JoHanna Hartwig grew up in the San Fernando Valley north of Los Angeles in a home filled with multicultural art. Her parents traveled the world bringing back art from many different countries. She was surrounded by tapestries, antiquities, paintings, lithographs, and sculptures.
JoHanna began painting in her early twenties, experimenting with different mediums and techniques. In her late thirties she was drawn to Impressionism and began painting using the technique of pointillism. She loves this method because it captures the movement and vibration within objective and subjective reality.
Her subjects are drawn from the fantastic landscapes of New Mexico and from inner realities seen through the imagination. JoHanna's inspiration comes through her spiritual beliefs and her chosen path of Light and Sound.
