Born in Eastern New Mexico in 1956, LeRoy has been exposed to the vast cultural heritage of his native land from a very early age. His paintings evoke a strong affinity for the Indian and Hispanic heritage that enriches New Mexico. His masterful strokes on canvas are a self taught discipline, a discipline cultivated from an early age, where the landscape was arid and emanated an almost inhospitable but beautiful environment for learning artistry. His paintings are of forgotten treasures, of a mysterious and religious people who love their land and their heritage.

     When you see a painting by LeRoy, you can smell the dust, and sense an ancient mystique of times gone by - a welcomed change from today's mass-produced artwork.
